Cry Of Battle - CD Cover - 2009

CD Cover for Cry of Battle’s new album Only the Shallow Know Themselves.

Cry of Battle’s funky blend of rock and neofolk with hip-hop beats has been described as “a delicious honey-glazed audio pastry, caramelized with flavors of Beck, Maroon 5, and Gnarls Barkley,” but the deep lyrics and dark overtones in Only the Shallow Know Themselves takes the band into new musical territory. The conflict works in their favor however, as the heavy themes combined with their signature upbeat sound make for a beautifully ironic listening experience.

This was actually a Facebook meme I stole but it turned out well enough I felt like sharing it; maybe throwing it in my portfolio.

I didn’t actually change the original pics much, so credit for those needs to go completely to the original artist. Title quote comes from that literary badass Oscar Wilde.

To do this (Just for fun…make up your own band album art and title):

1 – Go to “wikipedia.” Hit “random”
The first random wikipedia article you get is the name of your band.

2 – Go to “Random quotations”
The last four or five words of the very last quote of the page is the title of your album.

3 – Go to flickr and click on “explore the last seven days”
The third picture, no matter what it is, will be your album cover.

4 – Photoshop it all together. (Or, if you don’t have Photoshop, Picasa it all together.)

5 – Post it with these instructions as the caption, and tag all the people you want to try it, or would like to share it with

OPTIONAL BONUS ROUND I MADE UP:

6 – Find another photo in the same photostream with a similar theme as the cover, and use that for the back cover.

7 – Use the Wikirandom link to find 15 song titles.
